The Arc CBO focuses on Cerebral Palsy through championing various initiatives and programs in the community to support individuals with Cerebral Palsy (CP) and their families, raise awareness, and promote inclusion and accessibility. Some of the key areas  include:

Awareness and Education:

  • Conducting educational campaigns to raise awareness about CP, its causes, and the challenges faced by individuals with the condition.
  • Providing resources and information to families, educators, and healthcare providers about the latest treatments, therapies, and support mechanisms.

Advocacy:

  • Advocating for policy changes and legislation that support the rights and needs of individuals with CP, including accessibility, education, healthcare, and employment.
  • Working with local governments and organizations to ensure public spaces, transportation, and buildings are accessible to people with mobility challenges

Support Services:

  • Offering or facilitating access to support services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other treatments that can improve quality of life.
  • Providing counseling and support groups for individuals with CP and their families to share experiences and coping strategies.

Inclusive Education:

  • Collaborating with schools and educational institutions to promote inclusive education practices that accommodate children with CP.
  • Providing training for educators on the specific needs of students with CP and how to effectively support them in the classroom.

Employment and Vocational Training:

  • Creating programs that offer vocational training and job placement services for adults with CP, helping them to gain independence and financial stability.
  • Working with employers to promote the hiring of individuals with disabilities and to ensure workplace accommodations.

Research and Development:

  • Supporting or partnering with research institutions to fund and promote research on CP, aiming to improve understanding, treatment, and care options.
  • Disseminating research findings and new developments in CP care and therapy to the community and healthcare professionals.

Community Integration and Social Inclusion:

Equipment and Assistive Technology:
